AIDP- ATTENDANCE TEACHERS-DISTRICT 85

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a Full-Time position with a start date of September 5, 2024.  The work year is a 10- month period, September through June 2025. As a part of the superintendent's team, the superintendent or designee will be your immediate supervisor, provide day-to-day support and direction and assign a workspace in a district office; a school in the district in which you spend the majority of your time; or in a central office.  Centrally Funded Attendance Teachers work M-F from 8:30 AM-3:50 PM, inclusive of a half hour lunch break. Your salary is as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement. 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

New York City Public Schools-New York State Certified-Licensed Attendance Teacher

SELECTION CRITERIA:

- Ability to conduct outreach visits to homes
- Ability to work with ATS, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to generate and use data to improve attendance in schools
- Ability to create attendance and intervention plans for chronically absent students

DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBLILITIES:

- Conduct telephone outreach to home of absent students
- Make home visits as assigned in the 5 boroughs
- Document all outreach as assigned, complete all program paperwork as directed
 Including ATS entries and ILOG
- Work collaboratively with school staff in identifying and addressing the needs of
chronically absent students
- Work collaboratively with central staff and identifying and addressing the needs of
chronically absent students

 

SALARY:

As per UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement

HOURS/WORK YEAR:

Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. thru 3:50 p.m., inclusive of a half hour lunch
